Hartsville, SC- The Coker College Men’s Soccer team fell to Pfeiffer University, 3-0 in their final game of the season on Saturday afternoon. The loss drops to Coker 6-12 overall, and 2-8 in Conference Carolinas play, while the Falcons improve to 10-6-1 overall and 6-3-1 in the conference.

Pfeiffer jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 37 minute mark, as Matthew Harris scored on a penalty kick. All though Coker controlled the first half of play, the score remained 1-0 entering the half.

In the second half the Falcons struck early, just three minutes into the half, as Matthew Denton found the back of the net with a jumping header off a corner kick from Wilver Menacho.

Pfeiffer held the two goal advantage until the 83rd minute when they put the nail in the coffin with a goal from Davi Lorenzo, assisted by Renato Barbosa.

Coker and the Pfeiffer had an even 10 shots apiece, but only two of those were on frame for the Cobras. Alex Moreneo earned the shutout for the Falcons, while Adam Danziger (Palmetto, FL) and Ryan Lewis (Satellite Beach, FL) combined for four Cobras saves.

Coker honored seniors, Jake Wyman (Bradenton, FL) and Olivier Harper (Orlando, FL) before the match, as they played in their final home game.
