Hartsville, SC- The Coker Men’s Soccer Team got shut out by cross town rival Francis Marion on Saturday, in collegiate soccer. The Patriots defeated the Cobras 3-0 in Coker’s 2007 Homecoming match. The loss drops Coker to 5-9 overall, while FMU improves to 4-8 overall.

The Patriots jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, as Ivan Juric scored the first of two goals in the ninth minute of the game. FMU added their second goal, this time from Kyle Clinton in the 26th minute, as he scored off a deflection from a direct kick.

Francis Marion held their 2-0 lead through the half and in the 74th minute Juric struck again, putting the game out of reach for the Cobras.

Coker returns to the soccer pitch on Wednesday, as they travel to Barton College for a 7:00 p.m. game.
