In the second half, Osteen was replaced by fellow senior Brent Washburn/Barnwell, SC, and the Falcons took advantage of the change. Just eight minutes into the half Scott Slusher found the back of the net for the games first goal. Five minutes later it would be Mark Nerkowski who would score, with an assist from Davi Lorenzo. Lorenzo scored a goal of his own ten minutes later, when put in a rebound off Washburn. Slusher would get the fourth and final goal of the night off a penalty kick with just five minutes remaining in the game.
Osteen and Washburn combined for seven saves in the game, while Pfeiffer’s David Sheridan recorded three saves.
The games tonight marked the final home games for six Coker Senior Soccer Players. On the women’s team Jacque Stewart was the lone senior, while on the men’s side Jeremy Andrews, Scott Simmons, Cameron Farris, Brent Washburn and Aaron Osteen all played their final game on the Coker Soccer Field.
The final regular season games for the Cobras comes as they travel to Limestone College on Saturday, October 29, with the women starting at 1 p.m. followed by the men’s game at 3 p.m.
