DUE WEST— The Erskine Men’s Soccer Team picked up a huge 2-0 Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference ( CVAC ) win over Coker College on Saturday night at Huggins Field.

Freshman Marc Huie (
Greensboro , NC ) scored a goal in each half to lead the Fleet to victory. Huie’s first-half goal came at 14:34 when he finished a ball that bounded hard off the goal post after it had been struck by freshman Dane Chancey ( Hayesville , NC ). Huie put the Fleet up 2-0 at 28:27 in the 2nd half after taking a beautiful pass from freshman John Michael Leppert ( Germantown , TN ). Freshman Drew Annas ( Winston-Salem , NC ) picked up the shutout in goal for the Fleet.

Erskine is currently in 9th place in the
CVAC with only eight teams advancing to the CVAC Tournament in two weeks. Erskine is one game back of 8th place Barton College with two regular season games remaining. The Fleet will need at least one win over Pfeiffer (Tuesday) or Belmont Abbey (Saturday) next week to qualify for post-season play.

Erskine improved to
7-6-1 on the season and 2-5-1 in the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference. Coker dropped to 2-11 and 0-8 in the CVAC . The Fleet returns to action on Tuesday night when they face CVAC foe Pfeiffer University at 7:00 PM at Huggins Field.
