Belmont, NC- Kenny Weese scored two goals, both from well beyond the penalty area, as the Belmont Abbey men's soccer team shut out Coker 4-0 in the CVAC regular season finale from Belmont Saturday.

Weese put Belmont Abbey (7-7-2 overall, 8-2 CVAC) on the board in the 17th minute of the game, when he fired a shot from 30 yards out that went past goalie Aaron Osteen/Black Mountain, NC, hit the cross bar and just went past the goal line for a score. The game appeared headed to the half at 1-0, but Belmont Abbey added an insurance goal with 32 seconds remaining. Paul Loli fired a shot from close range that Osteen made a diving stop on, but Nick Wyatt was right there to take the rebound and give the Crusaders a 2-0 lead at the half.

Luis Arrieta made the score 3-0 in the 52nd minute when he took a pass from Christian Ocampo that went through two defenders, beating Osteen for a score. Weese then closed out the scoring in the 82nd minute when he caught Osteen too far out in the box, and lifted a shot from 20 yards out over his head and in the net for his second goal of the game. Despite giving up four goals, Osteen played solid in net, making six saves for Coker, who close the regular season at 2-11-1 overall, 3-6-1 in the CVAC, and will face top-seeded Queens in the CVAC quarterfinals.

Sean O'Connor and Seth Lowther shared the shutout for Belmont Abbey, who outshot Coker 23-6 for the game.
