Hartsville, SC - The Coker University Men's Lacrosse Team dropped their late season match-up to Newberry on Wednesday night (April 12). 

Starting off the scoring, Newberry posted four goals within the first four minutes of the game. Justin Beighey was the first to answer back with a goal of his own, an unassisted goal in the final three minutes. The Wolves finished off the first quarter with an extra two goals to take the score up to 6-1. Much like the first quarter, Newberry put up another two goals to start the second quarter. Continuing to fight, Cal Gibson and Augie Ford both registered a goal to close out the second quarter and brought the score to 8-3.

Despite the fight put up in the first quarter, Newberry continued their scoring rampage with five consecutive goals to take lead up by 10 points. Once again, Newberry added another three goals to their total. Caden Gore registered his first goal of the game in the fourth quarter to put some fight back into the Cobras and earn the fourth goal for Coker. The Cobras put up one more goal for the night as Newberry sealed out the game at a score of 20-5.

The Cobras will be returning to the field on Saturday (April 15) against Wingate. The first face off is set for 3:00 PM in Wingate, NC. Live streaming and stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com
