Cobras Drop Non-Conference Game at Young Harris

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Coker College men's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference game to Young Harris Sunday (Mar. 19) afternoon by a 13-6 final. The Cobras kept the game close and trailed Young Harris 8-6 after the third quarter. However, the Mountain Lions would go on to outscore the Cobras 5-0 in the fourth and final quarter of the game.

Vinny Magro opened up the scoring for Coker when he ripped a shot into the back of the cage at the 5:01 mark in the first quarter. Trailing 4-1 after the first quarter, the Cobras went on to outscore the Mountain Lions 3-1 in the second frame and dwindled Young Harris's lead to 5-4 heading to halftime. Scoring for the Navy and Gold in the second quarter was Vinny Magro and Charles Stafford. Magro tallied two goals in the second quarter to record a hat trick in the first half. Stafford notched his first goal of the game by driving to the cage and finishing on a fast break opportunity.

Next, Garrett Kilgore led the offensive attack for the Cobras in the third quarter by recording the only two Coker goals. Kilgore found the back of the net during the 12:03 and 2:38 marks. The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday (Mar. 25) when they travel to Wingate for a South Atlantic Conference matchup. Opening face off is set for 12 p.m.
