Cobras Fall to No. 9 Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Coker College men's lacrosse team fell to No. 9 Mount Olive 19-5 on Wednesday (Feb. 22) afternoon. Austin Holgate, Patrick Timothee, Rylee Marsh and Vinny Magro all tallied goals in the contest.

The Navy and Gold fired off shots throughout the game, but struggled to get good looks on the cage. Trailing 10-2, the Cobras battled back into the game by tallying back-to-back goals just 18 seconds apart. Rylee Marsh scored the first goal and Vinny Magro found the back of the net for the second to bring the score to 10-4 in favor of Mount Olive.

In the final quarter of play, Vinny Magro added his second goal and the final score of the game for the Cobras. Coker excelled in clears throughout the game completing 22 of 25 attempts. In addition, the Cobras and Trojans were even in turnovers with each squad committing 17 during the game.

The Cobras will be back in action this Saturday when they host No. 19 Saint Leo at 1 p.m.
