Cobras Looking to Reroute Tornados in SAC Action

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's lacrosse team will return home on Saturday (Mar. 12) at 4 p.m., after a brief two-game road trip to take on the visiting Brevard College Tornados in a South Atlantic Conference matchup. The Cobras are coming off a 13-8 road loss to the No. 20 Saint Leo University Lions.

Mike Martiello and Shane Wilson continue to pace a Coker offense that is averaging nearly nine goals per game. Martiello has a team-high 23 points on 12 goals and 11 asssists, while Wilson has netted a team-high 15 goals to go along with three assists. Rylee Marsh has seven goals and four assists, while Garrett Kilgore and Josh Smith have five goals apiece.

In the cage, Anthony Malik has 42 saves in just over 288 minutes.

The Tornados make the trip to Hartsville sporting a 1-6 overall record and a 0-1 SAC record, after a 21-6 win over Davis and Elkins.They are led by the 17 goals of Anthony Alfonso.

Opening faceoff is set for 4 p.m. at the Coker Athletic Field. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
