Coker's Ryan Earns Third SAC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College men's lacrosse player Tim Ryan has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced today. It is his third SAC weekly award and second in as many weeks.

Ryan anchored Coker's defensive efforts against Catawba College on Saturday, allowing just seven goals and stopping 73.1-percent of the Indians' shots in an 11-7 Cobras victory. Ryan recorded 19 saves in the win and also picked up three ground balls.

On the season, Ryan has compiled 156 saves for a 13 saves per game average and has stopped 53.4-percent of the shots he has faced. His 156 saves and 53.4 save percentage are good for second and fifth, respectively, in the SAC statistical standings.

A junior from Glocester, R.I., Ryan is a criminology major. He is the son of Jane and Bob Ryan.
