Coker Ready to Face Lenoir-Rhyne

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's lacrosse team will host the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne in a non-conference game on Saturday (Apr. 6) at Byerly Park. This will be the first game of a three-game home stand for the Cobras over the next week.

Coker is coming off a tough 12-7 loss to Florida Southern. Keith LaClair led the Cobra attack, scoring three goals with two assists, while John Bretton had a goal and two assists. Ryan Maurer and Timothy Smith each had a goal and an assist, and Steven Zolezzi netted a single goal against the Mocs.

For the year, LaClair continues to lead the team in goals with 19, while Maurer leads the team in points with 33 (16 goals, 17 assists). Tim Ryan and Josh Masciarelli have split time between the pipes. Ryan has made 55 saves in six games, while Masciaelli has made 95 saves in nine games.

Lenoir-Rhyne (8-6) enters the game having lost their last two games. They were narrowly defeated by Tampa (13-11) on Mar. 30 and lost to Queens (17-6) on Wednesday (Apr. 3). The Bears have a potent offensive attack with three 20-goal scorers; Tyler Kotch (26 goals), Connor Squires (24 goals) and Ned Kaish (22 goals). Accompanying the attack is netminder Steven McGhee and his 128 saves over 14 games.
