No. 10 LIU Post Defeats Coker 14-5

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Steven Zolezzi scored the first hat trick of his collegiate career in Coker's 14-5 loss to No. 10 LIU Post on Monday (Feb. 18) night.

Coker got off to a slow start, as LIU Post netted nine unanswered goals in the first half. The Cobras mounted a late second half comeback, outscoring the Pioneers 4-2 in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough to take home the win.

In addition to Zolezzi's three goals, Timothy Smith and Mike Martiello each notched a goal for the Cobras. Keith LaClair handed out a pair of assists, while Ryan Maurer and Shane Lauria dished out an assist each and Josh Masciarelli logged 12 saves in the net.

The Cobras will return to the field on Saturday (Feb. 23) at home against Belmont Abbey. Face-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at Byerly Park.
