Coker Rolls Past Lees-McRae 10-4

BANNER ELK, N.C. – Four Cobras scored two goals each, as the Coker lacrosse team rolled to a 10-4 Conference Carolinas win over Lees-McRae College on Saturday afternoon. The win improves the Cobras league record to 1-1.

Coker scored four goals in the opening half, adding another six in the second stanza. Goalie Tim Ryan (Gloucester, R.I.) made 14 saves in the win, allowing just four goals.

Keith LaClair (Lindenhurst, N.Y.), Steve Marciano (Shirley, N.Y.), Timothy Smith (Commack, N.Y.) and Adam Zinsmeister (Annapolis, Md.) each netted a pair of goals for the Cobras, while Ryan Vento (Bellmore, N.Y.) and Mikey Mazzola (Jupiter, Fla.) each added a goal.

Marciano also tallied three assists, Vento handed out two and Mazzola, LaClair and John Bretton (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) each had one.

The Cobras will hit the road for three more games next week starting with Limestone on Tuesday, followed by a pair of games at Chestnut Hill College. The first game will be on Thursday against Chestnut Hill, the second on Saturday against Seton Hill College.
