Men’s Golf Performed Great at the Spring Kick-Off Invite

St. Augustine, FL- The team competed as a whole throughout the day. Coker had to four out of their five golfers shoot just over par and finish +21 on the day. The Cobras finished the day 10th out of the 19 teams competing.

Coker was led by Killian Ryan as well as Jonathan Hallinger who both shot even pars through the tough course. Fred Tindale and Caleb Tidd went on to finish their impressive rounds just two over par. Tidd finished the day with a total of four birdies in the round. The Cobras finished competition with 13 birdies combined.

The coach had this to say about the invite "This was just a mediocre performance by our guys. Killian had a solid tournament, placing 9th at 69-74-72 (-1) and even he wasn't happy with that. Fred fired 72-73-74 for +3 to place 26th.

Today, we had our low round of the event at 4-over with 13 birdies. Our plan was to be more conservative on the par 5s and it paid off. We were 5-under on those holes today compared to +1 on Monday.

Caleb had two doubles today on par 3s but still managed to fire 74 by birdieing his last two holes.

Johnny, who had been ill right before the tournament, bounced back with a 72 today, so that was good to see."

"We have very big goals this spring, so although we surged at the end to finish 10th, we are better than that. Our sights are set on winning trophies and making it to the NCAAs in May. To do that, we will have to play more fearlessly and shoot more scores under par."
