Men's Golf Finishes Strong at Tennessee River Rumble

LOUDON, Tenn- The Coker University men's golf team wrapped up competition at the Tennessee River Rumble today (Mar. 29), the Cobras competed against several ranked opponents.

As a team Coker placed 11th with its best round coming in round three when the Cobras shot a 292 overall.

Fred Tindale led Coker in this week's action. Tindale placed tied for 25th, shooting a 72 (E) in round three and a 221 (+5) overall. Johnathan Hallinger shot a 73 (+1) in round three and a 224 (+8) on the week. Caleb Tidd shot a 74 (+2) today while shooting a 229 (+13 overall. Killian Ryan shot an 80 (+8) in round three while shooting a 230 (+14) on the week. Coleman Bess had a solid round three shooting a 73 (+1) and shot a 232 (+16) overall.

"I thought the 2nd round really hurt us this week. That 306 was probably our highest round of the year but we did battle back to shoot our best round of the week today at 4 over 292," said Head Coach John Hackney. "Fred had an excellent week finishing in the top 25 finish Johnny was very solid and led the field in pars, and it was good to see Coleman and Caleb put up some good rounds this afternoon."

"Now it's time to fine tune for the conference championship in a couple of weeks where we're gonna need to win to advance to the NCAA tournament, but I believe we are very capable of doing that," said Hackney.
