Men's Golf Season Tees Off at Queens University Collegiate Invitational

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College men's golf team is prepared to tee off in the Queens University Collegiate Invitational at The Club at Irish Creek in Charlotte, N.C. (Sept. 17-19) for their first tournament of the fall season. Fans can follow all of the tournament's action with updates on www.cokercobras.com

Last year Coker came away with a team victory, placing first out of 12 teams, with a 590 cumulative score. Taylor Ingle placed third overall in individual play, with rounds of 71 and 74 finishing three over and one shot off the lead. Ethan Cairns also finished inside the top-10 with a total score of 147, which had him tied for seventh.

The Club at Irish Creek was designed by Davis Love III and provides a luscious 400-acre, par-71 landscape. Head Coach Adam Goins looks forward to defending the tournament title. "Last season we played really well there," Goins said. "We have a lot of guys that have played and had success at Irish Creek before and we hope to have that same outcome this weekend."

The Queens University Collegiate Invitational will be played from Sunday (Sept. 17) through Tuesday (Sept. 19).
