Cobras Claim Third at SAC Preview

SALISBURY, N.C. – The Coker College men's golf team fired a final round team score of 288 on Tuesday (Feb. 28) to take third place at the SAC Preview with a tournament score of 583.

The Cobras had four players finish in the top 20, led by Ethan Cairns, who finished in a tie for seventh on the individual leaderboard. Cairns signed off on closing round of 69, leaving him with a 145 tournament score. Taylor Ingle fired his second-straight round of 73 to finish in a tie for 13th, while Wanjoo Lee's final round 75 was good enough for a 147 two-day score and a tie for 16th on the individual leaderboard. Will Bundy carded back-to-back rounds of 74 to record a top-20 finish, while Matt Moninghoff rebounded from an opening day 81, firing a closing round score of 72.

Lincoln Memorial University took home the team title by one shot over Queens University of Charlotte. The Railsplitters finished with a team score of 581. Brad Robinson of Lenoir-Rhyne was the individual medalist. He shot rounds of 68 and 70 to claim the top spot.

The Cobras will be back in action on Monday (Mar. 6) for day one of the Southern Tide Intercollegiate, hosted by Coker College.
