Coker Men's Golf Earns No. 6 Regional Ranking

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's golf team earned the No. 6 ranking in the southeast region in the latest Golfstat regional rankings. Along with the regional ranking, the Cobras are also ranked No. 31 in NCAA Division II. 

The Cobras, who completed their fall slate on Tuesday (Oct. 11), racked up three top-three finishes, including a win at the Queens Invitational. Coker was also the top regional finisher at the Kiawah Island Invitational, Queens Invite and tied for second regionally at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate.

According to Golfstat, Coker has competed against 23 teams in the southeast region, claiming a .500 of better record against 21 of those teams.

Ethan Cairns is ranked No. 29 in the region individually, along with debuting in the Division II national rankings at No. 100. Cairns posted a 73.44 scoring average in fall, notching two top-ten finishes. Taylor Ingle is ranked No. 36 in the region, compiling a 73.22 scoring average, one top-five finish and two top-ten finishes. Wanjoo Lee is ranked No. 55 regionally, posting a 73.22 scoring average and top-25 regional finishes in all four events in the fall.

The Navy and Gold will kick-off its spring season on Feb. 27, when they travel to Salisbury, N.C. for the SAC Preview.
