Final Round Surge Lands Cobras in Third Place at Kiawah Island Invitational; Cairns Finishes Sixth Individually

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Coker College men's golf team shot a final round of 287 at the Kiawah Island Invitational, jumping five spots on the team leaderboard and finishing in third place. The one-under round was tied for the second-lowest round of the day. As a team, the Cobras finished with a tournament score of 581.

Ethan Cairns continued his steady play, firing a second-straight round of 71. His two-under tournament score of 142 left him in a tie for sixth on the individual leaderboard. Taylor Ingle carded a final round 74 to finish in a tie for 22nd place individually, with a tournament score of two-over 146. Wanjoo Lee backed up an opening round of 75 with a final round of even-par 72. Lee finished with a tournament score of 147, leaving him in a tie for 30th. Will Bundy made the biggest leap of the day, shooting a team-low score of 70 (-2) in the final round. Daniel Graves rounded things out for the Navy and Gold, signing off on his second-straight round of 76.

Rollins College took home to the team title. The Tars carded rounds of 290 and 279 to finish at 569 (-7). Cabrick Waters of Limestone was the individual medalist, shooting rounds of 65 and 72.

The Cobras will have little time off, teeing it up on Sept. 19-20 at the Queens Collegiate Invitational.
