Coker's Bundy and Duke Named Division II Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College men's golfers Will Bundy and John Duke were named Division II Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced today. 

To be named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar at the Division II level, a player must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a scoring average under 78.0 and maintain a cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. The recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

In all, 91 golfers where named to the Division II All-America Scholars list.

Bundy, a rising senior, had a stellar junior season. On the links, he compiled a 73.1 season scoring average, which is fourth all-time in Coker men's golf history. He won the 2016 South Atlantic Conference individual title and was selected to compete in the 2016 NCAA Division II South/Southeast Super Regional Championship, making him the first Coker male golfer to do so since Jake Murphy in 2010-11. In all, the second team All-SAC selection had eight top-25 finishes and three top-ten finishes in 11 tournaments. His low round of 66, which came in the final round of the University of North Georgia Invitational is tied for the second lowest single round in Coker men's golf history. His season scoring average was good enough for No. 54 in all of Division II golf, while he was ranked No. 96 in the final Golfstat DII player ranking.

Will is a business major from Bennettsville, S.C. He is the son of Kim and Billy Bundy.

Duke, who graduated on May 14, 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business, competed in 13 rounds during the 2015-16 season. He notched one top-ten finish, while compiling a 77.8 season scoring average
