Coker Golf Earns Fourth at UNCP/Campbell Oil Classic

WALLACE, N.C. – The Coker men's golf team earned a fourth place finish at the UNCP/Campbell Oil Classic, after shooting a three round total of 907.

After day one of the tournament, the Cobras found themselves in seventh place.  The Navy and Yellow however responded by shooting a 295 team total in the final round, to push themselves up three places.

Leading the way for Coker was senior Josh Clay, who finished with a three round total of 225.  His score tied him for thirteenth on the individual rankings.  Coming in next for the Cobras was Will Bundy and Christopher Fuga, who shot a total of 227 and 228, respectively.  Both those scores were good enough for top-25 individual rankings as well, with Bundy finishing tied for 18th and Fuga tied for 22nd.  Rounding out the field of five was Blake Baysden and Zane Price with scores of 230 and 241.

Capturing first place in the tournament was Newberry College, followed by Erskine College, and the University of Mount Olive. 

Coker will next participate in the South Atlantic Conference Championships, which will be held on April 13th, in Sieverville, Tennessee.
