Coker Men's Golf Capture Fourth at Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate

FLEMING ISLAND, FLA. – The Coker men's golf team placed fourth (of 16) at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate after shooting a three round total of 879.

After day one of the tournament, the Cobras found themselves in 10th place.  The final round however was a different story as Coker finished the remaining 18 holes with an even score of 284, which was the best team score of the day. 

The Cobras were led by Blake Baysden who finished just four over par.  Baysden shot a 73 and 75 during rounds one and two and followed with an impressive 69 (-2) during round three.  Josh Clay also had an impactful performance after finishing the tournament just six over par.  Clay earned a 74 during rounds one and three, but shot an even 71 during round two.  Christopher Fuga finished the final round with a 70, after shooting a 73 and 78 during rounds one and two.  Zane Price and Aaron Beebe also finished strong by shooting a 72 (+1) and 73 (+2) during the final round, respectively. 

As a team, the Navy and Yellow lead the tournament with 61 pars.  They also finished second in the tournament with 13 birdies. 

Coker's next tournament will come on February 24th as they travel to Savannah, Georgia to participate in the Pirate Invitational.
