Coker in Fifth After Opening Rounds of Magnolia Invite

ORANGEBURG, S.C.- The Coker men's golf team opened play at the inaugural Magnolia Invitational by completing the first and second rounds with a fifth place finish. 


UNC Pembroke leads the field, with Barton College in second and USC Aiken and Newberry College in third and fourth respectively. 


Freshman Christopher Fuga (Phoenixville, Pa.) leads the Cobras at four-over par. He is tied for 12th after carding rounds of 74 and 72 at the par 71 Orangeburg Country Club. Sophomore Josh Clay (Stark County, Ohio) sits in 18th place at six-over par, while junior Jake Murphy (Hamilton, N.J.) is tied for 20th at seven-over par. Sophomore Matt Kreider (Westlake, Ohio) shot 12-over and freshman Luke Coates (Florence, S.C.) finished at 13-over. 


The Cobras will complete the third and final round of the Magnolia Invitational on Tuesday. Live scoring for the tournament is available through www.golfstat.com.
