Hartsville, S.C. – Coker senior Chris Marsh (Georgetown, S.C.) fired a five under par 66, capturing the medalist honors at the 2009 Coker College Intercollegiate Golf Tournament on Tuesday afternoon. Marsh’s two round total of 136 (-6) led the Cobras to a first place team finish with a two round total of 574 (+6). Following Cobras were Erskine College at 613 (+45) in second place and USC-Lancaster at 617 (+49) in third place at the par 71 Hartsville Country Club in Hartsville, S.C.

Following Marsh was fellow Cobra John LaDow (Pottstown, Pa.) in second shooting an even par 142 in the tournament. Taylor Banks of USC-Lancaster and Dean Hester of South Carolina tied for third at 145 (+3).

Rounding out the field of teams were Wingate University, Lees-McRae College, Fayetteville State and Paine College.

Individually for the Cobras, Jake Murphy () with a 147 (+5), followed by Patrick Kirby (Paris, Ontario) tied for eighth place with a 149 (+7). Jared Crane (Greenville, S.C.), Jay Goldenberg (Toronto, Ontario) and Ben Conroy (Durham, Conn.) all tied for 10th place with scores of 150 (+8), while Diego Polo (Guatemala City, Guatemala) finished in 15th place at 151 (+9).

This marks the final fall tournament for the Cobras, now they will begin to prepare for their spring season on competition starting in February of 2010.
