Hartsville, SC- The University of South Carolina Golf “B” Team took home their second straight Coker College Intercollegiate Golf Tournament Championship on Tuesday, as they defeated Coker College by 15 strokes, with a two day total of 567 (-9). Coker finished with a score of 582 (+6), while Warner Southern College placed third with a score of 586 (+10).

Leading the field individually were a pair of Gamecocks, Paul Woodbury was the tournament medalist with a score of 137 (-7), while teammate Florian Fritsch was a close second with a score of 138 (-6). Scott Caragher of Wingate and Marc Kourie of Pfeiffer tied for third with scores of 141 (-3).

For Coker individually, Benoit Gordon led the way with an eighth place finish, firing a 144 (E), while Stephen Thomson was just two strokes back with a 146 (+2). Jay Golden berg fired a two round 147 (+3) and Patrick Kirby and Chris Marsh each shot two day totals of 148 (+4).

The Coker Intercollegiate is the final tournament in the Cobras fall schedule. Now, Coker will begin to prepare for their spring season and their quest to capture the conference, regional and national titles.
