COLUMBUS, GA...USC Aiken and Belmont Abbey played well enough here Tuesday to maintain their respective leads in the Atlantic/Southeast Super Regional at Bull Creek. USC Aiken fired a team total of 298 (+10) and holds a two shot lead over Armstrong Atlantic State in the Southeast Regional, while Belmont Abbey turned in a 304 to stand at
607, seven shots in front of second place teams Queens and Barton.

USC Aiken's Scott Brown carded a 71 in the second round and holds a one shot lead over teammate Dane Burkhart and AASU's Jonathan Cox at 143. Burkhart carded a 74, while Cox equaled Brown's 71 for a 144 total. Greg Dobbins of UNC Pembroke and Chris Epperson of AASU are tied for fourth at 146. Dobbins also shot a 71, while Epperson carded a 73.

Georgia College & State University hopped up three spots with a second-round 301 and stand in third place at 612. Host Columbus State shot 306 and is fourth, while Francis Marion turned in a 309 and stands in fifth spot at 616. Presbyterian (635), UNC Pembroke (641), and North Greenville (651) round out the eight teams in the Southeast standings.

Columbus State lost at least seven shots on its final hole as three players struggled to triple bogey, double bogey, and bogey respectively. The Cougars played the front nine last after teeing off on hole #10 on Tuesday. Christian Ries followed Monday's 75 with 72 in the second round and is in sixth place. Omar Sanchez is seventh after a 77 on Tuesday. Michael Morrow turned in a 79 and is 26th, while Brandon Kuban shot 78 (T28), and Bobby Thomas an 82 (35th).

Belmont Abbey got a 74 from Kevin McPherson and a 75 from Matt Chidester to pace them to a team 304. Queens got a 75 from Chase Roberts and is five shots back at 309, while Barton turned in the top Atlantic round of the day with a team total of 298 to stand in third place at 614, seven shots off the lead. Pfeiffer (301-620) is fourth, Coker (304-622) is fifth, and Anderson (318-644) sixth. St. Andrews Presbyterian (316-646) and Fayetteville State (323-646) are tied for seventh.

David Harris of Pfeiffer holds a two-shot lead in the individual standings after shooting a 76 on Tuesday. His two-round total of 148 is two shots better than Tony DeCaro of Belmont Abbey, and three shots better than Jon Wetton of Barton. DeCaro carded a 76, while Wetton shot an even-par 72. Ross Gilbert of Barton(76-152), Will Henderson of
Queens (78-152), and Kevin McPherson of Belmont Abbey (74-152) are tied for fourth.

The round of the day was turned in by Dion Sirrianni of Lees-McRae. Sirrianni, playing as an individual, recovered from Monday's disastrous 89 - which included a 12 on one hole - to fire a two-under 70. The round vaulted him 22 spots in the individual standings and into a tie for 20th position.

A total of eight teams on each side will fight it out Wednesday for the five spots available in the Division II National Championship. The winners of each regional and the next three top-scoring teams will advance. The top-scoring individual not with an advancing team will also move on to the Championship.
