Cobras Defeat Bears in Nail Biter on Wednesday night (Jan. 4th)

Hartsville, SC - The Coker University Men's Basketball Team took down Lenoir-Rhyne Bears in Wednesday night game by a score of 56-53.

Tate Mulkey, dropping dime after dime led the Cobras with little to no competition, landing an easy 17 points for the night. Although Mulkey was the only player to score in double digits for Coker, nine other Cobras were able to get in on the action throughout the game. Jordan Jones (7), Jamie Muldowney (7), William Asken (5), and Xavier Moultrie (5) all combined for a total of 24 points. As a team, Coker shot 44.2 percent from the field, 28 percent from the three-point line, and 68.8 percent from the free throw line. 

Of the 29 rebounds collected by the Cobras, Mahmoud Bangura led with nine of his own. William Asken (3), Tate Mulkey (3), and Jamie Muldowney (3) also snatched down a few boards throughout the game. Coker also had six assists throughout the game and three steals.

Lenoir-Rhyne's, LJ McCoy, led his team with 12 points for the night.

The Cobras will be returning to action on Saturday (Jan. 7th) against Anderson University. Tip off is set for 4 PM in Hartsville, SC. Livestreaming and stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com
