Men's Basketball Drops Division I Exhibition at College of Charleston on Sunday

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Coker University men's basketball team dropped its Division I exhibition at College of Charleston on Sunday (Dec. 8) by a score of 76-50.

 The Cougars jumped out to a 10-6 lead over the first few minutes, before Coker would battle to get back within one at 12-11 and eventually tie the contest. The Cougars quickly built another five-point lead, before the Cobras would come back to tie the game at 19 with 10 minutes to play in the first half. Coker would get back within two, before College of Charleston would go back up by five with six minutes to play in the first half. The lead would fluctuate back up to six until the break, with College of Charleston leading 36-30 at the half.

The Cougars extended their lead into double-digits five and a half minutes into the second half, and held a double-digit lead until Coker cut the deficit to nine with 11 and a half minutes to play. The Cougars then re-gained their double-digit lead and held it until the final buzzer.

Noel Pinnock led the Cobras with 13 poinbts in the contest, while seven other Cobras contributed points in the contest. AJ McQuaige led the Cobras on the glass with nine rebounds in the game, while Pinnock also had eight. Six other Cobras were active on the glass in the game. Royce Hunter dished out a team-high three assists in the game, while Chandler Lindsey, Jaylin Stewart and KJ Harris each recorded two. Roy Ellis, Dakota Jennings and McQuiage each also registered one assist each. Ellis and Harris each had steals in the game. Jennings posted two blocks in the game, while Hunter and Pinnock each had one.

The Cobras return to the hardwood on Wednesday (Dec. 11) to host Lander University at the DeLoach Center. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m., with video and live stats available at www.cokercobras.com.
