HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College men's basketball player Donte Samuels was voted SPC Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Month for January 2018. 

Samuels reached the 1,000 point mark for his career in the month of January. He averaged 14.2 points per game (game-high 20), 6.4 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game, and four total blocks in the opening month of 2018. In the eight games, Samuels shot 86.6% from the free throw line, including five games where he was perfect from the stripe. 

Currently, Samuels sits sixth in the South Atlantic Conference in rebounds per game, averaging seven per contest. 

Samuels is the son of Seora Samuels-Harris and Henry Harris.
