Cobras Looking to Dethrone No. 7 Royals in Midweek Matchup

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team will be in action on Wednesday (Feb. 1) to welcome the visiting Queens University of Charlotte Royals for a South Atlantic Conference matchup. Opening tip is set for 8 p.m. with live stats and broadcast available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras are coming off a 30-point home win over Brevard on Saturday (Jan. 28), that saw five players score in double figures.

On the offensive end, the Navy and Gold are led by the scoring duo of JaQuez Motley and Jake Barrett. Motley is averaging 13.3 points per game, which ranks him No. 20 in the South Atlantic Conference. Barrett comes in averaging 10.8 points per game, including 10 or more points in four of his last seven games Roman Hall is chipping in 9.5 points per game, while Nathan Lemke is averaging 9.2 points per contest and nearly seven rebounds.

As a unit, the Cobras continue to be dominant on the offensive glass, pulling down a SAC-leading 14 offensive boards per game.

The Royals roll into Hartsville as the No. 7 ranked team in the most recent NABC Coaches Poll. They have a 19-1 overall mark and a 13-1 record in SAC play. Jalin Alexander leads the scoring quartet for Queens, averaging 15.2 points per game. As a team, the Royals rank in the top-25 of NCAA DII in points per game and field goal percentage.

Opening tip is set for 8 p.m. at the DeLoach Center. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
