Cobras Host Bulldogs in Pivotal Midweek SAC Meeting

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team will be back in the friendly confines of the DeLoach Center on Wednesday (Feb. 17) to take on the visiting Wingate University Bulldogs in South Atlantic Conference nightcap. Opening tip is set for 8 p.m. with live stats and broadcast available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras have won two of the last three; most recently notching a 90-85 overtime win at Tusculum. In their most recent dual, Coker fell 69-63, despite a 50-point outburst in the latter half.

Coker is led by junior forward Donte Samuels and his 15.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. He is coming off a 23-point outburst in the road win over the Pioneers. Rounding out Coker offensively is the duo of Trey Marshall and Aubrey Daniel, both averaging just over 10 points per game. The defense has been the catalyst for the Navy and Gold, giving up a conference-low 72.1 points per game. Trey James enters Wednesday's matchup pulling down 7.6 rebounds and swatting over two blocks per game.

The Bulldogs come into the matchup with a 17-7 overall record and a 13-5 in conference record, which is good enough for third place in the SAC standings. They are led by Isiah Cureton and his 14.5 points per game.

Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. at the DeLoach Center. Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
