HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team dropped a South Atlantic Conference matchup to the visiting Brevard College Tornados 69-64 on Saturday (Dec. 12).

The first ten minutes was all Brevard as they held a 21-10 lead with 10:29 left in the first half. However, the Cobras would claw their way back to just a one-point deficit after a Jalal Abdul-Azeez three-pointer with four minutes left. The two teams would trade buckets the rest of the half; with Brevard taking a 36-32 lead into the locker rooms.

The Navy and Gold exploded on an 8-2 run in the first three minutes of the second half to tie the game up at 40-all. They continued the solid play on both ends of the floor, stretching their lead to 63-54 with just 3:45 left in the game. However, Brevard rebounded with a 15-1 run to close out the game and take the 69-64 win.

Jalen Watson led the Cobras offensively with 14 points. Abdul-Azeez posted 11 points, while Roman Hall registered eight points, five rebounds and three assists off the bench. Trey James pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds to lead Coker defensively.
