Late Second Half Surge Lifts Coker Past Limestone 71-69

GAFFNEY, S.C. – A pair of Trey Marshall free throws with just three seconds remaining in the game, put Coker on top 71-69 and secured a come-from-behind victory for the Cobras over the Limestone Saints in NCAA Division II men's basketball action on Saturday (Nov. 28) evening.

After falling behind 35-30 at halftime, the Cobras found themselves trailing by as much as 17 points, 64-47, with seven and a half minutes left in the game.

Coker turned up the attack down the stretch, using a 24-5 run in the final seven and a half minutes to improve to 4-1 on the season.

Donte Samuels led all scorers with 20 points, two rebounds and two steals, while Jalal Abdul-Azeez poured in 11 points with two assists. Marshall also notched a double figure night with 10 points, including the game-winner, and five boards.

The Cobras will return to the court on Wednesday (Dec. 2) when they head to Wilmington, N.C. to take on Division I UNC Wilmington in an exhibition game. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
