Coker Men's Basketball Ranked No. 9 in D2SIDA Southeast Region Poll

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men’s basketball team earned a No. 9 ranking in the latest NCAA Division II Southeast Region Media Poll, sponsored by the Division II Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA), it was announced on Monday (Nov. 23).

Coker is off to a hot start, going 3-0 to begin the season, the best start in program history since the 2008-09 season. The Cobras have had three impressive wins so far this year, defeating North Greenville (63-57), Erskine (84-61) and Limestone (78-61).

Leading the way for the Cobras is preseason All-SAC selection Donte Samuels. The junior forward is averaging a team best 15.3 points per game, while pulling down four rebounds per game. He is also shooting at a 58.6 percent clip from the field. Seniors Aubrey Daniel and Trey Marshall are also averaging double figures with 11 and 10 points per game, respectively.

The Cobras return to action on Tuesday (Nov. 24) in their first South Atlantic Conference contest of the season at Catawba. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
