Explosive Second Half Leads Coker Past Erskine, 84-61

DUE WEST, S.C. – The Coker Cobras used an explosive second half to blow past the Erskine Flying Fleet on Saturday (Nov. 14) afternoon.  The Cobras dominated the Fleet, 84-61, improving to 2-0 on the season.

Coker and Erskine kept things close in the first half with neither team gaining more than a four-point lead. The two teams went to the locker room deadlocked at 30 during halftime.

The second half belonged to Coker. The Cobras used a dominating 34-8 run to take control of the half and the game. They closed out the game on another run, 14-10, to take home the 84-61 victory.

Donte Samuels and Aubrey Daniel led the way for the Cobras on the offensive side of the ball with 15 and 14 points, respectively. Trey James dominated the defensive end with 14 boards and eight points. Jalen Watson, Jacob Barrett and Larry Cooper also chipped in seven points each for the Cobras.

The Cobras will return to action on Wednesday (Nov. 18) in their home opener against Limestone College. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. at Coker's DeLoach Center following the Cobra women's game at 6 p.m.
