Coker Falls to Anderson in SAC Action 81-66

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Coker College men's basketball team fell to the Anderson University Trojans on the road on Saturday (Feb. 21) 81-66 in South Atlantic Conference action.

Coker would head to the locker rooms after the first 20 minutes behind 45-28.

The Cobras would win the second half battle 38-36. But it would not be enough to erase the 17-point halftime deficit.

Donte Samuels fueled the Navy and Yellow offensively shooting 7-for-14 from the floor and 75 percent from the charity stripe for a team-high 20 points. Errick Bethel chipped in 17 points, nine of which came from behind the arc. He also dished out four assists. Bethel has now eclipsed the 1,000–point mark for his career. He becomes the 13th player in Coker history to reach 1,000 career points.

The Cobras will be back in action on Wednesday (Feb. 25) for a SAC matchup against the Lenoir-Rhyne University Bears. Men will tip at at 8 p.m. at the DeLoach Center.
