Cobras Take Down Eagles 69-60

JEFFERSON CITY, TENN. – The Coker Cobras picked up a 69-60 South Atlantic Conference victory over the Carson-Newman Eagles on Saturday (Nov. 22) afternoon in collegiate men's basketball action.

The first half of play was a back and forth battle, as both teams exchanged baskets throughout the half. The Cobras pulled away with a 4-0 run in the final two minutes, taking a 31-27 lead at the break.

Coker continued to pour on the offensive pressure in the second half, taking as much as a 13-point lead on their way to the 69-60 win. The Cobras forced 24 Eagle turnovers and converted them into 25 points, while also scoring 38 points in the paint.

Errick Bethel led the Cobras with 19 points, four assists and two rebounds. Larry Felder and Donte Samuels added 16 points each with six and five rebounds, respectively. Trey Marshall chipped in eight points and four assists as well for the Cobras.

Coker will return home for its next game on Tuesday (Nov. 25) against Queens University of Charlotte. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. at Coker's DeLoach Center.
