Coker to Host Benedict on Tuesday

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Cobra men's basketball team will return to the friendly confines of the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium on Tuesday (Dec. 3) for a non-conference game against Benedict College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. with live coverage of the game available online at www.cokercobras.com.

Leading the way for Coker (3-2, 1-2 SAC) is a pair of seniors chasing career milestones, Julian Nelson and Sharod Williams. Nelson is looking to become the 12th member of the 1,000-point club at Coker. To date the guard has scored 957 points, just 43 shy of the 1,000-point mark. Williams is on track to become just the fifth Cobra to reach 500 career rebounds. To date the forward has pulled down 487 rebounds, leaving him just 13 short of 500.

Benedict (4-1) enters the game riding a two-game winning streak. The Tigers defeated Georgia Regents, 72-70, and Allen, 74-61. Junior guard Andrew Crawford leads the Tigers with 15 points and four rebounds per game.

Tickets for the game are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
