Men's Basketball Trio Earns Academic All-Conference Selection

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College men's basketball players Jonathon Gardner, Gabriel Mens and Andrew Morris have been named to the Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference team, the league office announced today.

Gardner, a senior guard, is a four-year member of the Cobras and two-time academic all-conference selection. He is a physical education and sport studies major with a concentration in exercise science. Gardner has not played in the 2012-13 season due to injury.

Jonathon is the son of Darryl and Nancy Gardner.

Mens is a junior business administration major from Antwerp, Belgium. He has played in 12 games for the Cobras this season.

Gabriel is the son of Eddy Mens and Patti Sammons.

Morris, a senior guard, is a business administration major. He's played in 19 games for the Cobras this season, averaging 12 points, three rebounds and one assist per game. In addition to academic all-conference, Morris has also been named to the Capital One Academic All-American and All-District teams.

Andrew is originally from Melbourne, Australia, and is the son of Richard and Rosemary Morris.
