Coker Takes Down Pfeiffer, 64-51

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Cobra men's basketball team picked up a 64-51 win over Pfeiffer University in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action on Thursday (Jan. 24) night. With the win Coker improves to 5-5 in league play and 8-8 overall.

Coker used a 15-5 run to take a 25-15 lead, their largest of the first half, but the Falcons battled back, cutting the deficit to just two points, 34-32, at the break. The game remained close through the first eight minutes of the second half, until the Cobras went on a 15-0 run over the next eight minutes to take a 60-45 lead with 4:36 left in the game. Coker held on to the double-digit lead down the stretch winning 64-51.

As a team the Cobras shot 43.8 percent from the field and 41.2 from beyond the arc. Coker's bench was crucial to their victory with 40 of their 64 points coming off the bench.

Julian Nelson was Coker's leading scorer, knocking down 17 points with four assists and three rebounds, while Andrew Morris scored 13 points and had three rebounds. Eren Moses, Sharod Williams and Errick Bethel each scored eight points, with Moses and Williams pulling down three rebounds each.

The Cobras will return home for their next game on Saturday (Jan. 26) at 4 p.m. against King College.
