Walker Leads Coker Past Coastal Georgia 70-61

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Freshman Taylor Walker scored a career high 14 points, leading the Coker men's basketball team to a 70-61 win over the Coastal Georgia Mariners on Tuesday (Jan. 22). Twelve of Walker's 14 points came from 3-point range. He shot 80 percent (4-for-5) from long range for the game.

In addition to Walker's career night, Julian Nelson scored 13 points with seven rebounds and Austin Harper had 11 points and eight rebounds.

The Cobras led from start to finish, allowing the Mariners to tie the game just twice. Coker forced 20 turnovers, out scoring Costal Georgia 23-8 and they scored 32 points off the bench. As a team the Cobras shot 44.3 percent from the field.

Coker's next game will be on the road on Thursday (Jan. 24) against Pfeiffer University. The Conference Carolinas game will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. following the women's game at 5:30 p.m.
