Coker Falls Just Short Against King

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Julian Nelson (Irmo, S.C.) scored a game high 25 points, but the Coker men's basketball team came up short in their Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Quarterfinal Tournament game against King College, 69-65.

The Cobras made a late second half run, tying the game at 62 with a minute remaining and then cutting the lead to just two with six seconds left. However, Coker was forced to send King to the foul line, where the Tornado's Logan Kyle knocked down both free throws giving King a 69-65 win.

Sharod Williams (Miami, Fla.) tied a Coker single season record for rebounds with 249 this season after pulling down 11 boards in the game. Charles West (Ellenwood, Ga.) also scored in double figures, adding 12 points.

The loss ends Coker's season at 14-13 overall and 8-8 in conference play. The Cobras won six of their last seven and made their eighth consecutive trip to the conference tournament.
