Williams' Career Night Leads to Coker Victory

WILSON, N.C. – Coker junior Sharod Williams (Miami, Fla.) scored a career high 23 points with 11 rebounds in the Cobra men's basketball team's 85-69 win over Barton College on Wednesday night.

The Cobras trailed the Bulldogs 34-33 at halftime, but thanks to a 27-15 run to start the second half, Coker took the lead for good. The Cobras had a solid night shooting, hitting 48 percent from the field and 85.9 percent from the charity stripe.

Along with Williams' career night, Julian Nelson (Irmo, S.C.) set a career record of his own. Nelson finished the night with 16 points, 12 of which came from the free throw line as he was a perfect 12-for-12 from the line, a career best for the sophomore. Junior Andrew Morris (Melbourne, Australia) added 17 points with five rebounds and four steals.

The Cobras will return to the hardwood on Saturday when they host the Belmont Abbey Crusaders at 4 p.m.
