Hornets Sting Cobras in Double OT, 92-87

SUMTER, S.C. – Sharod Williams (Miami, Fla.) tied a Coker single game record with 19 rebounds in the Cobras 92-87 double overtime loss to Morris College on Monday night. 

Williams had one of two double-doubles for the Cobras, adding 11 points to his record tying rebounds, while Julian Nelson (Irmo, S.C.) had a game high 20 points with 10 rebounds and six assists. 

In a very physical game between the Cobras and the Hornets, it took ten minutes of extra time to determine a winner. Coker shot 43 percent from the field and were a dominating force on the boards with 55 total rebounds, compared to just 40 for Morris. The physicality of the game was seen in the 49 total fouls called on both teams.

Austin Harper (Chesnee, S.C.) added 17 points and four boards to the Cobra efforts, with Andrew Morris (Melbourne, Australia) kicking in 10 points.

The Cobras will be back on the court for a Conference Carolinas match-up on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. They will host the Trojans of Mount Olive College.
