Solid Effort Nets Cobras 83-64 Win Over Pfeiffer

Coker's two solid halves were more then enough to defeat Pfeiffer, 83-64 behind Sharod Williams' and Charles West's 14 points each on Tuesday night in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action.

The Cobras played a solid first half bringing a 38-30 lead into the locker rooms.  Junior Williams (Miami, Fla.) was the first player to hit double digits, heading into the half with 10.  Coker's bench combined for 19 points.  Sophomore Ethan Gort (Hilton Head, S.C.) came off the bench and picked up five rebounds as well as seven points.  Freshman Eren Moses (New York, N.Y.) also had a stellar first half picking up six points.

Pfeiffer stormed out with an 8-2 lead to start the game, but they could not sustain it.  Senior Danny Smith (Hyattsville, MD) led the Falcons offense with 12 points.  Collectively, Pfeiffer had 15 rebounds.  They also scored the final points of the half with a shot from Smith that he just barely managed to get off before the buzzer sounded.  As a team they shot 34.6 percent from the floor.

Coker's solid first half carried over into the second as they outscored Pfeiffer 45-34.  Sophomore Julian Nelson (Irmo, S.C.) had an impressive second half netting 11 points and four rebounds.  Coker led a fairly balanced attack with nearly every player scoring in the half.  West (Ellenwood, Ga.) finished the game with 14 points.

Junior Reggie Hollinger (Orlando, FL) tried to rally the Falcons with 12 points of his own, but Pfeiffer couldn't get a run going.
