Cobras Soar Past Flying Fleet 73-47

DUE WEST, S.C. – The Coker Cobra men's basketball team defeated the Erskine College Flying Fleet with ease, 73-47, on Saturday afternoon. The win improves the Cobras to 7-5 overall and 1-2 in Conference Carolinas play.

The Cobras used solid defense and sharp shooting to defeat the Fleet, hitting 51 percent from the field, while holding Erskine to 35.9 percent. Coker also hit 81.2 percent from the charity stripe compared to the Fleet's 65.2 percent.

Leading the Cobra attack was Sharod Williams (Miami, Fla.) with 16 points and six rebounds, while Charles West (Ellenwood, Ga.) and Andrew Morris (Melbourne, Australia) each had 15 points. Austin Harper (Chesnee, S.C.) added 12 points to the Coker offense.

Corey Sorrell was the lone member of the Fleet to score in double figures with 19 points.

Coker returns home for their next game on Tuesday, January 10 against St. Andrews University at 7:30 p.m.
