Williams Leads Coker to 79-66 Win over Coastal Georgia

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Junior Sharod Williams (Miami, Fla.) led the Cobra men's basketball team to a 79-66 win over the College of Coastal Georgia with a double-double performance Tuesday night. Williams netted a career high 17 points and pulled down a game high 15 rebounds to help Coker improve to 5-2 on the year.

Fellow junior Austin Harper (Chesnee, S.C.) was Coker's leading scorer with 19 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore Julian Nelson (Irmo, S.C.) added 18 points and five assists as the Cobras' third double-digit scorer.

Coker and Coastal Georgia were evenly matched for opening five minutes of play, but a three-pointer by Andrew Morris (Melbourne, Australia) at the 15 minute mark put the Cobras on top for good.

The Mariners cut the lead to just one with 11 minutes left in the first, but that would be as close as they would get. The Cobras took a 34-30 lead into halftime and then used a 45 point second half to take home the win.

Marcus Morrison scored 22 points to pace the Mariners, while Jared Paul scored 17 points and Cory Wheeler added 15.
