Division I East Carolina Tops Coker, 63-50

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Sophomore Julian Nelson (Irmo, S.C.) led Coker with 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the Cobras' 63-50 loss to Division I East Carolina University on Thursday night.

The loss, Coker's first of the season, drops the Cobras to 2-1 on the season, while East Carolina improves to 2-1 with the victory.

Junior Austin Harper (Chesnee, S.C.) added 10 points and six rebounds to the Cobra offense, while Sharod Williams (Miami, Fla.) and Avery Harris (Lancaster, S.C.) posted eight points each off the bench.

ECU's Darrius Morrow led all scorers with 25 points and eight rebounds.

The Cobras will continue their busy weekend of basketball on Friday with the start of the Zaxby's Tip-Off Clazzic at Francis Marion University. Coker will take on Chowan University in their first game of the clazzic at 6 p.m. They will then take on Morris College on Saturday in their second game, also at 6 p.m.
