HARTSVILLE, S.C.— The Coker College men’s basketball team was unable to complete their series sweep of the Limestone College, as the Saints defeated the Cobras 76-69 on Monday night in Conference Carolinas men’s basketball action. With the loss the Cobras slide to 10-13 on the year and 7-10 in the conference, while Limestone moves to 15-7 overall and 11-6 in conference play thanks to the win.

Thomas Wright (Sydney Australia) scored a career high and game high 21 points for the Cobras, with five rebounds, while Delonte Doles (Roswell, Ga.) recorded 13 points. Liam Kyle (Cleveland, Ohio) nearly had a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds, he also added a trio of assists and four blocks to his stat sheet for the night.

Four Saints scored double digits to lead Limestone to victory, with Stewart Clark (Atlanta, Ga.) pacing the group with 19 points, followed by Jarrell Douglass’(Leesburg, Fla.) 17 points and five assists. Tyron Evans (Leesburg, Fla.) and Anthony Middleton (Holly Hill, S.C.) had 14 points apiece, rounding out the four Saints with double figures.

Limestone shot a perfect 50.0 percent from the floor, but an astonishing 52.9 percent from beyond the arc was the difference maker in the game. In contrast, Coker shot just 40.0 percent from the floor and 26.3 percent from 3-point range.

Coker and Limestone both hit the hardwood again on Saturday, with Coker traveling to Queens University of Charlotte and Limestone heading to Belmont Abbey. Both games are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. tip-offs.
