MISENHIEMER, N.C. -  Pfeiffer’s Chris Woods (Greensboro, N.C.)  had a game high 22 points and 11 rebounds  to lead the Falcon men’s basketball team to a 106-91 win over the Coker Cobras on Monday night in Conference Carolinas basketball action.

Coker (5-6 overall, 2-3 Conf. Carolinas) held a six point lead with 13 minutes left in the second half, but 22-7 Falcons run led by  Woods over the next 10 minutes gave Pfeiffer (6-4, 2-2) the win.

A trio of Falcons joined Woods in double figures, by scoring 14 points each; Jeff Pettiway (Edgewood, Md.), Davon Gilliard (Charleston, S.C.) and James Morse (Arundel, Maine), while Reggie Hollinger (Orlando, Fla.) had 13 points and five rebounds and James Crowder (High Point, N.C.)  had 10 points.

Leading the Cobras was Mason Ambler (Atlanta, Ga.) with 18 points, followed by Thomas Wright’s (Sydney, Australia) 17 points. Vatrick Thompson (Columbia, S.C.) also netted 13 points for the Cobras.

Both teams shot over 50 percent from the floor with the Cobras holding a slight advantage, shooting 55.9 percent compared to 52.6 percent. The difference in the game came in points off the bench with the Falcons bench scoring 45 points to Coker’s 32. Pfeiffer also hit 15 shots from beyond the arc.

Coker and Pfeiffer return to action on Wednesday, when Coker hosts Mount Olive and Pfeiffer travels to Barton College. Both games tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
